I used to read a lot. From R.L. Stine's Goosebumps and Fear Street to VC Andrew's dirty novels to Dean Knootz's thrillers to Robin Hobb's fantasy series. I love to read!
I haven't had time to read for a while. I used to get books from the library, but they have been stacking up, unread, racking a late fees bill. And, I have stopped buying books because I simply have no place to put them. My fiance is itching to get rid of all my books.
But, I have renewed my love affair with books thanks to my friends who let me borrow the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. I am almost done with the first book, The Final Empire. I read about a chapter to two a day depending on how tired I am by the time I get into bed.
Last night, I stayed up till 5am reading. I was really tired, but I just couldn't put it down! There's just enough romance and misunderstanding to entice my girly side and a lot of fighting and adventure. I am completely immersed in the world of the final empire. I must admit though, it took a few chapters for me to get into it. It's always hard to get into a completely new world though, specially for a fantasy book. There are so many names and cities to remember.
Ok, so basically, this book is about a poor girl, Vin, who has been abused all her life. Little did she know that she has special powers called allomancy and she's damn good at it. She met a man who realized her potential and mentored her and included her in his plan to overthrow the evil tyrannic Lord Ruler of the Final Empire, who made himself a god-king. It's kind of like a Cinderalla story, but more kick-s, if you know what I mean. She has to pretend to be a noble woman to infiltrate the court and of course, falls in love with a nobleman. He eventually finds out she's lying of course. But, does he love her enough to see through that? Can they overthrow the empire?
That's all I am going to say, read the book to find out more!!
I am almost at the end, but I have so much to do today!! Only my love for my beads keep me away from the book. But, this necklace would be good for Vin, a necklace to represent the metals she can ingest and use to increase her power.
Read anything good lately?

I love to read! Lately, though it seems if I have an hour there are so many other things I should be doing.
I'm currently reading Love in the Time of Cholera. It is really good!
