~ More about Dylan and Dante.... My Foster Havanese Puppies ~

It's been about 2 weeks since Dylan and Dante arrived. I had a lot of fun watching them get used to life outside of cages.  They have learned to play with toys, sleep on a bed and potty at the right place!  Well, Dylan can potty at the right place.  Dante is having a little bit of trouble at the moment.

Dante is a curious little fellow, very sneaky and loves to pounce!

Dylan is very sweet, very shy, but loves to play with Momo.

Want to know more?  Check out more pictures and more details at Mimolo!  Also, if you are interested in adopting, they are both listed on Petfinder.com! Here’s the link for Dante:  Dante on Petfinder.  Here’s the link for Dylan:  Dylan on Petfinder.

~ Testing out Nikon D90 ~

I recently acquired a used Nikon D90 with a few lenses and I took it out for a spin.  Here are some of my favorites...It's nice having a macro lens!  I have no idea how to use this camera.... just snapping pictures in Aperture mode.  Hopefully, I will learn soon!

~ The Steakhouse at Azul at La Jolla ~

Next stop!  Happy Hour at the Steakhouse at Azul at La Jolla!  We went in for dinner but got enticed by the happy hour menu so we just got pretty much one of everything!

First off....the yummy corn chowder!!

Even the bread is good!  The butter is special!

Yummy chicken on a stick.....  love the sauce!

This flat bread was so awesome!  My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

This fried yam was awesome too.  The steak was so soft and tender!

Ok, this one is a little funny.  The menu said steak fries.  So, I thought it would be like big plate of thick fries.  Surprise!  There's a big piece of steak on top of the fries.  Haha, I guess I didn't know what steak fries was....

I really want to go back to this place!!!  I like the decor here.  It seems like such a high class place and it had the most awesome fire place.  I love how open it was.  Happy hour is such a good deal too!  *Drool*

~ Little Korea in La Jolla ~

It's time for food pictures!!!  First stop at La Jolla is Little Korea!  Little Korea is a small Korean restaurant on the second floor of a small building close to the beach.  It's sunny and bright and spacious.

We ordered some lunch specials and of course we get these little appetizers too.

Love these little dishes!  They look even cuter with these bright yellow radishes!

Who wants some yummy kimchi?

These dumplings were good.  Not too oily and goes well with the little salad.

I think this was the chicken.  Spicy!

This is bul go gi.  Very yummy!

Kimchi Pancake.  Also good.  It's been too long since my trip so the specific tastes are a little vague in my memory.  I just remembered that it was a very relaxed meal.  I loved sitting by the window and eating spicy food.  Everything was surprisingly not greasy and the proportions was just the right size.  Perfect little place for lunch and a nice brisk walk to the beach afterward!

Here are a couple of pictures from our walk.  Who doesn't love the blue sky, blue waters and greenery?

~ Cherry Blossoms at Kenwood ~

Every year, I try to get down to DC to see cherry blossoms.  But, every year something happens and I just don't get to see the cherry blossoms.  This year, I went down to DC but it was too cold and I ended up at the museum.  But, I found out about Kenwood so I headed there to see some cherry blossoms!

The cherry blossoms were so pretty!  It was like a fairy tale!  It was very crowded though and I did feel bad for walking on people's lawns.

Since Kenwood is just a neighborhood, I brought Momo too!  He was quite excited about everything!

Here are some closeups of the cherry blossoms.  Most of the cherry blossoms were white.  I think pink is prettier, but the sheer amount of blossoms is still astonishing.  My brother took this picture :)

This is taken with my S95.  Not sure what kind of flowers these are....

My S95 again... not as sharp as the Nikon, but I didn't want to carry it around.

Kenwood is a very nice neighborhood and it's nicely organized to handle the huge amount of visitors.  It was hard to find information about it though.  There is no address and I had no idea where I was going.  I just saw that it's on Brookside Drive and River Rd.  On weekends, there are cops there to direct traffic so it wasn't too bad.  There was many parking spaces along the street and you just have to follow the signs.  I think it's easier to just enter the neighborhood at River Rd and Dorsey Ave though.

There were a lot of kids selling lemonade and cookies for charity, which is very sweet of them.  There is also a small area for hanging out and perhaps a small picnic, I think.  It's in the middle, on Brookside Drive.  I think I will go back on a weekday next year, or maybe go down to DC again.  The flowers are so pretty!

~ Meet Dylan and Dante.... My Foster Havanese Puppies ~

I picked up my foster puppies last Thursday and it's been quite an adventure!  These poor puppies lived their whole lives in a chicken wire cage in a puppy mill and only know to hide from reaching hands.  This is what they looked like during their first bath...

This is them today.... just chilling in the cleanest environment they have ever known.  Want to know more?  Please visit Mimolo (my other blog about Havanese)!
